Scottsdale, AZ — Cochise won its 20th victory of the season Wednesday evening by beating Scottsdale CC 61-54.
Forward Sophia Elenga led the way with 14 points and 5 rebounds, while guard Jordyn Penniman added 12 points. Coulter Bowlen had 10 points and 7 rebounds, plus Arianna Anderson chipped in 8 points.
Cochise controlled the ball with great precision, shooting 42% from the floor and totaling 16 assists on 25 made field goals. Defensively, Cochise held Scottsdale to only 32% shooting and won the rebounding battle 38-37.
With a 20-6 overall record, Cochise is now 14-4 inside its conference. Next up is a matchup versus South Mountain Community College on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.
