The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning‘s Brown Bag Lecture Series is presented each semester at the college’s campuses and centers. Weekly free lectures and presentations offer attendees the opportunity to hear fascinating stories and learn about a wide array of topics in a no-pressure environment.
This semester, lectures are presented on Mondays at the Benson Center, Tuesdays at the Douglas Government Center, located at 1012 N. G Ave., and Wednesdays at the Sierra Vista Campus in room 702. All lectures are from 12:10 to 1 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning winter Brown Bag Lunch presentations will offer some interesting and informative programs. Presentations are held at the Cochise College Benson Center; the Douglas Government Center and Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus, Room 702.
• “Cochise County Sheriff’s Office” – Feb. 3, Benson Center
Deputy Hadfield and Sgt. Linendoll will address the programs, responsibilities and goals of the Cochise County Sheriff’s office. This office is responsible for more than 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, with limited staff and officers.
• “Our India Adventure” – Feb. 4, Douglas Government Center
Cochise College faculty members and travelers extraordinaire Sheila DeVoe Heidman and Rebecca Orozco will share their two-week Christmas adventure in India, a democratic country of 1.2 billion people dealing with color, chaos and excitement. They will be sharing incredible images from their journey.
• “Trekking the Khumbu Valley of Nepal” – Feb. 5, Sierra Vista Campus, room 702
Last fall, Rick Whipple achieved a lifetime dream. He trekked the Khumbu region of Nepal and viewed the world’s greatest peaks ― Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori and Ama Dablam. He shared his dream with Parkinson’s patients. He will share photos, videos and his impressions of this breathtaking region and its Sherpa people.
