Cochise College will honor 25 students at its annual General Educational Development (GED) Graduate Recognition Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, at the Sierra Vista Campus.

The event celebrates those who have passed the GED test within the last year at Cochise College to achieve their high school equivalency credential.

Two students were selected to speak at the event and share their journey to earn their GEDs.

The ceremony will feature Mr. Tim Quinn, Cochise College Governing Board Member as the guest speaker.

“While we recognize the pandemic’s impact on our whole society, our students have overcome insurmountable odds, persevered to achieve their goals, and are now ready to move on with the next chapter of their lives,” said Peter Hooper, Director of Adult Education at Cochise College. “It is important to consider the community’s role in the success of each student from the support of family, friends and coworkers, to the dedication of the college and staff to offer students individualized educational opportunities to meet their immediate and future goals,” said Peter Hooper, Director of Adult Education at Cochise College.

Live online streaming, accessed on the Cochise College YouTube channel and Facebook page, will allow friends and relatives to enjoy the ceremony.
