SIERRA VISTA — Maggie McQuaid kicks off the Cochise College Celtic Culture Series next week with a lecture/demonstration on Folk Music of the British Isles.
Join the British Literature students for this event, which is free and open to the public, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. in the Horace Steele room (library) at the Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus.
Explore the rich and glorious folk music traditions of England, Scotland and Wales. Enjoy the mysterious Scots ballads, stirring Welsh choral singing, English sea chanteys and broadsides. Conclude with the great English folk-rock of the ’60s and ’70s.
