IMG_7846 (1) Cochise College sophomore guard, Arell Hennings, signed a National Letter of Intent with UC Davis on Wednesday. Hennings, a NJCAA All-American, visited the UC Davis campus in March and enjoyed everything about the visit.

“I really like the college town, the coaches were great and the guys made me feel like part of the team. The coaches were honest and welcoming and the players really made me feel part of the team on my visit,” Hennings said.

UC Davis, a member of the Big West Conference, finished the 2015-16 season 11-19 overall, 6-10 in conference. Hennings, from Seattle, signed during the first day of the NCAA spring signing period.

Apache head coach Jerry Carrillo likes what Hennings brings to the table for the Aggies. “Arell made us win. He won 49 games in two years, was an All-Region player, All-American selection, hung three championship banners and earned a scholarship with UC Davis,” said Coach Carrillo.

When asked about his experience at Cochise, Hennings responded, “It was the best two years of my life in terms of basketball. The staff prepared me for the next level, I worked hard on my game and I am leaving with an associate’s degree and D1 scholarship, what more could I ask for.”
