CASPER, Wyo. — Charlie Kogianes placed sixth in the nation in saddle bronc riding last week at the annual College National Finals Rodeo at the Casper Events Center in Wyoming.

Kogianes, who previously competed for Central Wyoming College, scored 69 points in his first go-around on June 9. Two days later, he scored 61.5 points in the second round, then 55.5 points in the third round, and 69.5 points in the short-go Sunday to take sixth.

Also qualifying for CNFR from Cochise was freshman Georgia Diez, who placed 15th in goat tying and competed in barrel racing. Diez finished the regular season as Rookie Cowgirl of the Year in the Grand Canyon Region.
