Three Cochise College men’s basketball players have been named to the 2010-2011 All-ACCAC (Arizona Community College Athletic Conference) and 2010-2011 All-Region teams.

Xavier Johnson Blount, a sophomore guard from Virginia Beach, Va., was named to the All-ACCAC and All-Region Division I First Team. He leads the conference in scoring, averaging 22.2 points per game and placed among the top 3-point scorers, sinking 41.5 percent of 224 attempts.

Diggs Moikobu

Diggs Moikobu, a sophomore forward from Seattle, was named to the All-ACCAC and All-Region Division I Second Team. He leads the conference in rebounds with an average of 9.5 per game. He also average 14.7 points per game and had a field goal percentage of 53.8 percent on 305 attempts.

Jesus Delgado, a sophomore guard from El Paso, was named to the All-ACCAC Third Team. He averaged 14.6 points per game and scored 40.4 percent of 114 3-point field goal attempts.

“These three young men had very good two-year careers here at Cochise College, and the individual accolades they received were well deserved,” said Apaches Head Coach Jerry Carrillo. “We hope to win a region title this year.”

Cochise College leads the conference in four of six statistical categories, including offense, rebounds, field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage. The team finished the regular season 13-9 in the conference and 20-10 overall. The Apaches play in the regional playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3 at Eastern Arizona College. The regional finals are scheduled for Saturday, with the game location, time and opponents to be determined.
