DOUGLAS — Cochise College will hold its 48th commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday, May 17 on the Douglas Campus. College offices will close at 3 p.m. that day for faculty and staff to prepare for the evening’s festivities.
This year, Cochise College will award about 1,500 diplomas for the summer and fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters, and more than 300 students are expected to participate in commencement ceremonies. A live online video stream will allow viewers unable to attend the ceremony to see everything from the processional to the last graduate crossing the stage.
The special pinning ceremony recognizing this year’s nursing class will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, also on the Douglas Campus. About 120 students will participate, with first-year students recognized for earning certification and second-year students honored for earning their Associate of Applied Science degree, making them eligible to take the exam to become a registered nurse.
