DOUGLAS — The Cochise College baseball team is seeded No. 1 in the NJCAA Region I Division I Tournament and will host second-seeded Yavapai College in this week’s championship series.
Single games on Thursday and Friday begin at 2 p.m., and Saturday’s if-necessary game is set for noon.
The Region I champion will move on to the Western District Championship tournament, held May 14-16 and hosted by the Region 18 champion. The Apaches have won the Western District for the last two years to earn back-to-back trips to the NJCAA Division I World Series.
All region tournament games on the Douglas Campus will be broadcast on KDAP 96.5 FM. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for kids under 5. Cochise College students get into the games free with an ID. Fans can also follow the game for free online by signing up for an account with GameChanger.
