SIERRA VISTA — The economy has slowed, and it’s impacting small businesses.

“How to Survive in a Slow Economy” is a free workshop set for 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 11 in Bisbee. It is designed as a practical guide to help a business owner assess circumstances, frame new strategies and find appropriate resources.

Topics covered will include basic and financial planning, personnel, operations audit, knowledge of the market and fulfilling consumer needs, advertising and promotion, and general bookkeeping and accounting practices.

The class is presented by the Cochise College Small Business Development Center and the Bisbee Chamber of Commerce, and it will be held at the 555 Grill in Bisbee, located at 202 Tombstone Canyon.

The instructor for the class is Cecilia Rivas Schuermann, Business Analyst/International Trade Specialist for the Cochise College SBDC.
