SIERRA VISTA — The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning will be launching a new, non-credit, Supervisory and Leadership Certificate in February.
The certificate provides practical knowledge for new or experienced supervisors, front-line managers, or anyone seeking a promotion to a management position. Completion of the two-part course ensures students meet pre-requisites for the Certified Public Manager program at Arizona State University.
“This is a combination of online and in-classroom courses designed to provide practical skills for new supervisors, or anyone needing additional training,” said CLL Director Sharon Gilman.
Part A meets online from Feb. 3 through March 28 and covers four units: “Understanding the Role of the Supervisor,” “Effective Delegation,” “Performance Management” and “Writing Performance Reviews.”
Part B is the classroom component, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 1 through 17 from 5:15 to 9:15 p.m. on the Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus. It covers “Effective Communication,” “Basics of Employment Law” and “Effective Group Management and Conflict Resolution.”
