DOUGLAS – Two Cochise College women’s soccer players were awarded postseason honors from the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference.
Sophomore Kayla Davis was named to the ACCAC’s First Team in Region I for the second year in a row, as well as First Team All-Region. The California native was the Apaches’ leading goal scorer and has started every game of her career at Cochise College.
Franciele Bonfanti, a freshman from Brazil, went to the ACCAC Second Team. She led the Apaches in assists during the fall season, and head coach Andrea Daniels called her “a huge asset to the team with her strength and speed.”
While the soccer team is in the offseason, the Apaches continue community service work. Last week, members of the team went to Joe Carlson Elementary School in Douglas to spend time with students within the classroom, then played what Daniels called a “challenging” soccer match against fifth graders.
