DOUGLAS – The Cochise College women’s soccer team fell flat against conference foe Pima Community College on Saturday, losing 2-0 in the Apaches’ home opener.

“We dominated the first half, and we just could not find the back of the net,” said Cochise head coach Andrea Daniels. “They caught us flat on defense and were able to score off transition.”

Daniels said the Apaches came out hard again after halftime, but the back of the net remained elusive. Pima scored again on a free kick.

“The team that wanted it more won the game,” Daniels said. “We had a lot of good things that we can take for our next game.”

Cochise is still hunting for its first conference win of the season and now stands at 1-3-1 overall heading into Tuesday’s game at Phoenix College.
