DOUGLAS — In the heat of conference play, you can still find the Cochise College women’s soccer team in the community’s classroom, volunteering their time to area youth.
Last Friday, the Apaches went to Sarah Marley Elementary School in Douglas to help in the classroom, share soccer drills with the third, fourth and fifth graders, and talk about the importance of going to college. The team was surprised with homemade cards from some of the students.
The Apache soccer team always volunteers several times each semester at schools in the community. Players share their experiences as student athletes and are positive role models for the youth.
