Douglas, AZ —Tuesday was a great day for the Cochise College Apaches. The baseball team took a 10-1 victory over Glendale in seven innings.
The Apaches took down Glendale thanks to nine hits, including one extra-base hit. Cochise scored five runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Max Draijer, a wild pitch, a two-run single by Taggart Baxter, and an RBI single by Jamori Blash.
Jordon West had a great game as he struck out 10 batters to carry.
Logan Bottrell was solid at the plate for the Apaches. Bottrell went 1-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fourth inning.
During the second game, the pitchers had a tough day as the two teams put up 18 runs combined in a 10-8 Cochise College Apaches win. There were 21 hits, including seven extra-base hits in the game.
Max Draijer helped Cochise College Apaches pull ahead for the duration in the sixth inning. After Adam De La Cruz singled, Draijer came to the plate with the score tied at three in the sixth inning, and homered, bringing home De La Cruz and Jamori Blash.
Draijer racked up four RBIs on one hit for Cochise College Apaches. Additional home runs for Cochise College Apaches came when Taggart Baxter homered in the third inning and Jorge Duarte homered in the eighth inning.
Alex Tovalin recorded the win for Cochise College Apaches even though he allowed six runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered six hits.
