IMG_0635GLENDALE — The Cochise College baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against Glendale Community College on Saturday.

The Apaches lost game one 2-1 in 11 innings. Steve Naemark started on the mound and went nine innings for Cochise, allowing seven hits and no runs.

The game was scoreless through 10 innings before an RBI single from Sean DeSoto gave the Apaches a run in the top of the 11th. But Glendale responded with a walk-off two-run double by Ryan Benedict. Darick Hall took the loss for Cochise.

Another solid pitching effort for the Apaches came in game two, as Josh Advocate went six innings, gave up a hit, a walk and a run, and struck out three.

At the plate, Cochise had just two hits and walked three times in the seven-inning game.

The losses drop Cochise to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play heading into Tuesday’s game against Scottsdale Community College. The doubleheader begins at noon on the Douglas Campus. Admission is free.
