DOUGLAS — The Cochise College baseball team split its doubleheader against Pima Community College on Tuesday, winning game one 5-2 and falling in game two 11-6.
Jake Luna went 2 for 3 with two RBIs in the first game and Steve Naemark got the win for Cochise after allowing just two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six in the complete seven innings.
Cochise scored two in the first, two more in the third and one more in the fifth. Louis Boyd and
Pima scored two in the sixth and took the lead with five runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Kellen Marrufo and three singles.
Cochise is 22-18 overall and 11-13 in conference play heading into Saturday’s game at Yavapai College. The Apaches return home Tuesday against South Mountain for a noon doubleheader on the Douglas Campus. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
