Apaches Women's BasketballIn its second trip to Phoenix in as many games, Cochise College women’s basketball team pulled out another win by beating Phoenix CC 74-71. Coulter Bowlen filled the stat-sheet with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Sophia Elenga had another strong performance with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Arianna Anderson had 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Ciara Fields’ 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals were key. Plus, Jordyn Penniman had 8 points and 5 assists, while Taylor Harris and Tatyana McFarland each had 9 points. McFarland also added 6 rebounds and Guadalupe Chao had 2 blocks.
Cochise shot 47% from the field versus 38% by Phoenix CC, which was out-rebounded 42-35. The game proved to be a tough and physical contest, with Cochise making 18/26 free throws.
Next up is a home-game versus Central Arizona at 5:30pm on Saturday evening. The game will be a part of “Sophomore Night”, with Cochise honoring its five sophomores on the roster this season.
