Four Cochise College students have been named to the All-Arizona Academic Team and will be honored during a recognition ceremony on Feb. 22.
The ceremony celebrates the outstanding academic achievements, community service and leadership of students enrolled at an Arizona community college. The students will receive tuition waivers to complete their bachelor’s degrees at one of the state’s public universities: Arizona State University, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.
The event will be live-streamed at noon (MST) via Youtube at messacc.edu/live. Family, friends, and community college representatives can participate in the interactive component of the event. Please use #CochiseCollege and #AllAZScholars on social to be a part of the live social wall for viewing that honorees and guests can see during the event. Once the event starts, there will be a live chat area to provide congratulatory remarks, kind words, support, and emojis!
Students nominated are reviewed first by business, civic, education and government leaders, then judged a second time by representatives of various federal agencies and education associations. Rankings for the honorees will be available following this year’s ceremony. They are ranked and placed on first, second and third academic teams. In addition to tuition waivers, Cochise College’s All-Arizona scholars receive a cash scholarship from the Cochise College Foundation of $1000 for the First Team, $750 for Second Team and $500 for Third Team.
