IMG_1058Glendale, AZ — In yet another trip to the greater Phoenix area, Cochise College women’s basketball team pulled out another victory in a 79-61 win over Glendale Community College. Rauline Martinez had 14 points and 2 steals, while JuWanna Milton added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Sophia Elenga, Coulter Bowlen, Ciara Fields and Tatyana McFarland each chipped in 8 points.

Elenga led Cochise with 11 rebounds, with Arianna Anderson pulling down another 10 boards off the glass. Guards Jordyn Penniman dished out 4 assists while Taylor Harris contributed 4 assists and 3 steals, respectively. It was a great shooting night for Cochise, who notched 18 assists and shot 58% from the field versus 40% for Glendale. Defensively, Cochise picked off 11 steals off 15 Glendale turnovers.
The victory takes Cochise to a 23-7 overall record, good for 3rd-best in school history. With a 17-5 record inside its conference, Cochise earned the 3rd-seed in the ACCAC playoffs starting next week.
