IMG_1654Cochise played El Paso CC this past weekend and came out with three wins and one loss.

During their first game against El Paso, the Apaches fell 6-1. Canice Ejoh did all he could to give the Apaches a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past El Paso. Cochise College Apaches lost in seven innings.

Cochise ended their last game Friday night by beating El Paso CC 11-7.

Adam De La Cruz lead the win with two extra base hits. He homered in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

One run in the top of the ninth helped El Paso CC close its deficit to 11-7. An RBI single by Wade gave El Paso CC life. The game went final when Balderrama struck out.

On Saturday, Cochise closed out the weekend with two wins against El Paso.

Tyler Fallwell led the Apaches to a 6-1 victory. Fallwell struck out eight batters to carry Cochise College Apaches to a 6-1 victory over El Paso CC in seven innings.

The game’s last lead went to Cochise College Apaches thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on two singles.

Cochise College Apaches built upon its lead with three runs in the third. Ejoh started the inning with a triple, bringing home Jackson Overlund.

In the fourth inning, El Paso CC pushed across its only run of the day on an error.

The final victory saw a seven-run explosion in the fifth inning, which spurred Cochise to an 11-5 win.

El Paso CC couldn’t get anything going as long as Juan Aguilera was on the bump. El Paso CC managed just one hit off of Aguilera, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out nine during his six innings of work.

John Sandoval was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out two.

Cochise College Apaches scored one run of its own in the first and on an RBI single by Taggart Baxter.

After a quick strike from El Paso CC, Cochise College Apaches responded with three runs in the seventh. The Apaches scored on an RBI single by Baxter and a two-run home run by Jamori Blash.

Up next, the Apaches face Yavapai CC (DH) in an away game on Feb 23rd.
