The Apaches were behind 31-25 at the half, but rallied to take the lead twice in the second half, and the teams were tied at 62-62 with a minute left in the game.

“I’m greatly pleased with the effort, playing against high level competition on the road,” Cochise College head coach Jerry Carrillo told the Sierra Vista Herald. “We battled through adversity and were right there.”

Tim Jacobs led Cochise with 18 points and Demitrius Balark and Ronald Singleton had 11 apiece.

The Apaches will stay in Texas this week to face nationally-ranked Odessa College tonight at 6 p.m. Arizona time, followed by New Mexico Military Institute on Saturday.
