DOUGLAS — The Cochise College men’s basketball team won its sixth straight game Wednesday with an 88-65 victory over defending region champion Mesa Community College.
Jordan Martin led the Apaches with 19 points, Justin Jones had 13 and Brayon Blake scored 12.
“We’ve set the bar high here and last year was tough,” Cochise coach Jerry Carrillo told the Sierra Vista Herald. “So to defeat the defending region champs so soundly was fun. I really like how our new guys have responded.”
Cochise is 6-0 on the season heading into away games at Tohono O’odham on Saturday and Chandler-Gilbert on Tuesday. The Apaches return home Wednesday, Dec. 3, for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with Eastern Arizona.
Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
