DOUGLAS — The Cochise College women’s soccer played to a tie Arizona Western College on Monday, 1-1, during a matchup played under dark clouds and drizzly rain.
Brittany Melvin scored for the Apaches in the 21st minute, slipping the ball just past Matadors goalie Breanna Silveira. Arizona Western scored its goal just before halftime on a penalty kick.
Cochise is 4-0-1 on the season heading into Thursday’s game at Paradise Valley. The 7:30 p.m. game will be played at Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix.
Next week, Cochise travels to Phoenix College on Sept. 16, then returns home to the Douglas Campus on Sept. 18 against Pima and Sept. 20 against Glendale.
Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
