10010098_866442166723734_3404945094907011162_oTUCUMCARI, N.M. — The Cochise College women’s rodeo team took third and the men finished fourth at the Mesalands rodeo on Oct. 10-11.

In the women’s all-around, Cochise’s Georgia Diez took third and Bandee Tubbs finished fourth. Diez took fifth in breakaway roping and third in goat tying. Tubbs finished ninth in barrel racing and second in breakaway roping.

Also scoring for the Cochise women were Anna Barker, ninth in barrel racing; Katie Adams, sixth in breakaway roping; Makayla Boots, second in goat tying; Arianna Assini, fifth in goat tying; and Janey Reeves, seventh in goat tying.

For the men, Jalen Joaquin finished first and Wade Kane eighth in saddle bronc riding.

At the end of the fall season, the Cochise women are atop the standings in the Grand Canyon Region, just ahead of Central Arizona College, and the Cochise men are fifth overall. The Apaches return to competition in the spring.
