Cochise College’s two campuses will be hosting blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross next week.
The Douglas Campus fall blood drive, hosted by the campus’ TRiO Student Support Services, is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, in the Student Union.
The Sierra Vista Campus fall blood drive is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 in the Student Union. Donors will receive a free T-shirt, while supplies last.
Almost 20 percent of the millions of blood donations made each year in the U.S. come from high school and college blood drives. At the Douglas Campus, TRiO helps put on two blood drives per year. This year, the fall drive is in memory of Dr. Michele Ouellette, while the spring drive is in memory of Kathy Johnson, a longtime TRiO academic adviser.
The Douglas Campus spring blood drive is already on the calendar, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 12.
