Are you a current or future Cochise College student who has already decided on transferring to Arizona State University? If your choice of major belongs to one of a number of degree pathways, the Cochise College-ASU Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) has been designed for you.

There are now 20 degree pathways offered for Cochise College students through TAGs with Arizona State University. This agreement, nicknamed Point ASU, allows Cochise students who are working toward specific degrees to transfer to ASU without losing credits.

The most recently added TAG agreement between Cochise College and ASU is in Organizational Studies, part of the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) program. This TAG lets a Cochise College graduate transfer up to 90 credit hours to ASU, which means students can stay at Cochise for one more academic year.

More than a dozen other TAG majors are available, including those within the fields of science, education, math, criminal justice and more. TAGs have been created for ASU’s highest demand degrees, and additional TAGs will continue to be developed.

“We’re working to expand what is already an extensive list of options for Cochise students who might want to transfer to ASU,” said Judith Doerr, Director of the Office of Curriculum, Learning and Assessment at Cochise College. “The BIS degree offers great flexibility and provides a chance for students to earn their bachelor’s degree while saving a lot of money on tuition costs.”

By utilizing Point ASU, students who complete the Arizona General Education Curriculum at Cochise in three years or less and follow all other terms under the TAG will not only earn an associate degree, but their enrollment to ASU to complete their bachelor’s degree will also be guaranteed. By working closely with Cochise College and ASU advisers, it also ensures all courses transfer and apply to a degree at ASU.

Point ASU is a partnership specifically designed to make it easier and more cost-effective for students to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Students can save money by completing coursework at Cochise College.
