DOUGLAS — The Cochise College women’s rodeo team placed third and the men’s team fourth at the annual Cochise County Fair Rodeo on Sept. 27-28.
The women were led by Georgia Diez, who won the All-Around with 235 points. She placed third in barrel racing and tied for first in goat tying with a time of 15.6 seconds. Also for Cochise, Aubrey Smith took second in breakaway roping, and in goat tying, Arianna Assini tied for fourth and Makayla Boots finished seventh.
For the Cochise men, Charlie Kogianes and Dawson Byrne tied for second in the saddle bronc riding event.
The Cochise College rodeo teams finish out the fall season at Mesalands on Oct. 11-12, then return to action in the spring.
