DOUGLAS — The 2013 Cochise College Alumni Weekend invites former students back to the Douglas Campus on Oct. 24-26 for a weekend filled with activities, including the annual Pit Fire Festival, basketball scrimmages and soccer games, and social events.
Since Cochise College opened in 1964, about 30,000 people have earned degrees and certificates at its campuses and centers. Graduation from Cochise is not a requirement to be considered an alumnus. If you have ever taken a class at Cochise or worked at Cochise, you are an alum.

“We believe many people recognize the value of their Cochise College experience as much as other higher education experiences because Cochise College is often the institution that prepared them for later success,” said Denise Hoyos, Executive Director of the Cochise College Foundation.
The Alumni Weekend event will be the first time the college has initiated a comprehensive program in an effort to engage its large alumni population.
“Alumni have a key role to play in supporting the institution by sharing their enthusiasm about their Cochise College experience with others,” Hoyos said. “We recognize that many alumni are right in our backyard, so an ongoing effort will be to attain and stay on top of alumni contact information and offer activities that appeal to an array of people.”
