Cochise College rodeo resumes the season March 1-2 with the Apaches’ second home rodeo this year, held at Wren Arena on Fort Huachuca.
Gates open at 8 a.m. March 1 for slack, and the performance starts at 2 p.m. Advance tickets go on sale for $7 in February at the Murr Community Center on Fort Huachuca. Tickets are $8 at the gate.

The event also includes a petting zoo, open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Cochise rodeo athletes are among the leaders in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Grand Canyon Region standings heading into the spring season.
The Cochise women are second in the region with 1,180 points, just behind Central Arizona College. The Cochise men’s team is fifth.
Cochise’s saddle bronc riders hold down the third, fourth, seventh and eighth spots: Charlie Kogianes, Dawson Bryne, Josh Winans and Wade Kane, respectively.
Georgia Diez is second in the Women’s All-Around, while also leading the Barrel Racing category. Shyanne Summerfield is eighth in the barrels.
In breakaway roping, Arianna Assini is third and Aubrey Smith is sixth. In goat tying, Makayla Boots is second overall, with Assini fifth and Diez sixth.
Bobby Flores is in the top 15 of the team roping with a 13th position in the heeling standings.
The Cochise rodeo teams practice daily from 1 to 6 p.m. Visitors are welcome to come down to the arena and check out the improved facilities and meet some of the team members.
