The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning‘s Brown Bag Lecture Series is presented each semester at the college’s campuses and centers. Weekly free lectures and presentations offer attendees the opportunity to hear fascinating stories and learn about a wide array of topics in a no-pressure environment.
This semester, lectures are presented on Mondays at the Benson Center, Tuesdays at the Douglas Government Center, located at 1012 N. G Ave., and Wednesdays at the Sierra Vista Campus in room 702. All lectures are from 12:10 to 1 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
• “Railroad Dispute of 1894”
Monday, Nov. 4, Benson Center
Bob Nilson will talk about railroading’s importance in Benson history. Interesting and informative this program promises to be captivating.
• “Civil War Veterans of Douglas”
Tuesday, Nov. 5, Douglas Government Center
Silas Griffin, member of the Douglas Borderland Veteran’s Camp, will talk about Douglas, AZ Civil War Veterans and other unknown pieces of history.
• “Alpacas in 50 Minutes or Less”
Wednesday, Nov. 6, Sierra Vista Campus, room 702
Lisa Thompson, owner of Thunder Mountain Alpaca Ranch in Hereford, will introduce you to alpacas with a brief history and overview of alpaca behavior and management.
